grilled salmon with blackberry sauce

ingredients
  • 4 salmon fillets or steaks (about 1 1/2 lbs.)
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar (not seasoned)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon prepared ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried lemongrass
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

directions

Brush salmon with chili garlic sauce. Cook on a well-oiled grill over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until salmon is cooked to your liking.

While the salmon is cooking, puree the remaining ingredients in a blender or small food processor until smooth.

Serve sauce over hot grilled salmon.

Note: if you don’t have a grill, you can also bake in an oven. Preheat to 450 degrees, brush Salmon with a little oil and season with salt and pepper, place on a rimmed baking sheet and cook for about 10 minutes, or until fish is opaque throughout.
